Local Information
Narcotics Anonymous in
Charlotte consists of approximately 100 meetings per week
throughout the Charlotte metro area. Each individual meeting
is sponsored by a separate NA group. The Charlotte Area
consists of approximately 50 groups. So that each group can
concentrate on our primary purpose, which is "carrying
the message to the addict who still suffers", a
representative from each group is delegated to attend a
monthly business meeting to handle all business affairs for
the Charlotte Area as a whole.
The monthly business
meeting or Area Service Committee, is responsible for
administering services for the local NA community. That
committee meets the second Saturday of each month at 4019
Central Ave. in Charlotte, NC at 1pm. The committee also
consists of several sub-committees which carryout the
business affairs for the area. The literature sales committee
is responsible for maintaining a literature stockpile to be
distributed to area NA Groups. The Hospitals and Institutions
Committee conducts several meetings and panel discussions per
week at local Treatment, Hospital and Community Detox centers
for patients who cannot attend regularly scheduled NA
meetings. The Public Relations Committee is responsible for
printing and maintaining local meeting schedules, maintaining
the area's website, and providing presentations to local
schools, churches, and professional communities who request
information on Narcotics Anonymous. The Public Relations
Committee also maintains a mailing list to local
professionals to keep them updated on meeting times and
locations as well as any other pertinent information. The
Outreach Committee reaches surrounding isolated areas and
provides them with support on NA Services. The Outreach
Committee also conducts several weekly meetings in
surrounding Detention and Prison Facilities.
