Carolina Region Service Committees The Area Service Committee is the primary means by which the services of a local NA community are administered. The area committee is composed of group service representatives, administrative officers (chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer), subcommittee chairpersons, and the area's regional committee members.

The purpose of Public Information (PI) work in Narcotics Anonymous is to inform the public that NA exists and offers recovery from the disease of addiction. Some of the duties of P.I. include printing meeting schedules, conducting presentations to community organizations as well as local schools and churches. P.I. also maintains the area helpline service.
If you are interested in becoming a helpline volunteer, you may email the webservant or attend the monthly P.I. meeting.

The purpose of an H&I meeting is to carry the NA message of recovery to addicts in facilities who do not have full access to regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings such as treatment centers, mental health facilities, jails, prisons, and forensic hospitals.
H&I is always in need of volunteers. You only need one day clean to attend the sub-committee meeting but it is necessary to have three months clean before attending an H&I meeting in a facility, and six months clean before speaking at one.

The Outreach sub-committee acts as a liaison from the Area Service Committee to groups in isolated areas. Outreach also maintains a list of meetings not included in our meeting schedules that are in restricted facilities such as prisons and treatment centers.

The activities committee is responsible for planning and organizing functions such as dances, cook-outs, unity days and also assists Home groups in coordinating anniversary celebrations.

The Convention committee coordinates the Greater Charlotte Area's annual "Bound For Freedom" convention. It also plans and organizes special functions to help fund the convention.

Literature sales is responsible for the sale of various NA materials that are used to help carry the NA message of recovery.

The purpose of this area's Literature Review Subcommittee is:
- To make available review and approval form literature
- To serve as a communication link in matters of literature between the group and literature committees on area, regional, and world levels
- To provide the forum and atmosphere where members may contribute to the development and creation of NA literature
